BIORACER WINS 30TH AMBIORIX AWARD

BIORACER, HEADQUARTERED IN TESSENDERLO, HAS WON THE AMBIORIX AWARD FOR 2019.

BIORACER IS A FAST-GROWING COMPANY IN THE NICHE SPORTSWEAR MARKET, SPECIALISING IN PERSONALISED CYCLING, SKATING, RUNNING AND TRIATHLON EQUIPMENT. WITH A WORKFORCE OF ABOUT 75 EMPLOYEES IN BELGIUM, BIORACER HAS ACHIEVED A TURNOVER EXCEEDING 25.5M EURO IN 2018-2019, AND AN EBITDA OF OVER 3M EURO. BIORACER HAS A TOTAL OF 385 EMPLOYEES WORLDWIDE. RAYMOND VANSTRAELEN, THE FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR STILL PLAYS A CRUCIAL AND INSPIRATIONAL ROLE, WITH THE ABLE ASSISTANCE OF FELLOW PARTNER AND CHAIRMAN PETER CROONEN, CEO DANNY SEGERS, AND A COMPETENT MANAGEMENT TEAM AND WORKFORCE.

The Ambiorix jury stated that due to its high ambition and its meticulously formulated strategic approach, Bioracer has been able to achieve a spectacular growth over the past five years that far exceeds the average of the Top 500 companies in Limburg. The entire company is guided by the mission ‘ensuring your best athletic performance’ and by the basic philosophy ‘man is the measure of all things’, and is founded on: passion, innovation, service, trust and inclusiveness as its core values.

Crucial factors in the success of the company are continuous innovation and a high level of personalised customer service, with the support of an efficient global supply chain. More than 80% of Bioracer’s turnover is generated abroad, comprising significant sales to neighbouring countries, the Scandinavian countries, Spain, and more recently, Colombia. The core of the supply chain and innovation is anchored in Tessenderlo. Production is spread over a wide range of countries: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Romania, Northern Macedonia, with the recent addition of the Colombian production facilities. 

The main focus of Bioracer’s products and services include amateur as well as professional athletes, particularly cyclists. It not only supplies sportswear under its own brand name, but also acts as a subcontractor with an individualised range of products. Bioracer also offers a variety of services aimed at improving athletic performance through speed centres, and via its subsidiary Reskin, the company supplies adhesive bandages and related products that prevent friction injuries.

Employers’ organisation VKW Limburg is presenting the 30th Ambiorix Award to a Top 500 Limburg company that excels in quantitative and qualitative entrepreneurship with a strong focus on its employees and the environment. The soundness of the rigorous selection procedure is evidenced by the fact that the 29 previous laureates continue to perform excellently. 

The actual prize will be awarded on Monday evening, 30 September, during the annual meeting of VKW Limburg in the presence of approximately 1,000 managers and entrepreneurs. Ambiorix Award and Ambiorix jury.Based on the figures and growth over the past five years, a quantitative selection is made from among all the Top 500 companies. The companies with the highest scores are subjected to a strict qualitative selection and lastly, a visit by the independent expert jury.
